Powder Coating

Powder coating has become the standard finishing process for metal fabrications due to its superior durability, environmental compliance, and finish quality compared to traditional wet paint. The dry powder is electrostatically charged and applied to a grounded part where it adheres uniformly, then cured in a convection oven at 325 to 400 degrees F where it chemically cross-links to form a hard, continuous protective layer.

Powder coatings produce zero VOC emissions during application and offer thousands of color options, gloss levels, and textures, from matte to high-gloss, smooth to textured wrinkle finishes. The coating adheres with superior uniformity compared to spray paint, eliminating sags, runs, and drips, and achieving excellent coverage even in recesses and on complex geometries.

For production fabrications, powder coating is dramatically more efficient than traditional painting, requiring minimal surface prep beyond abrasive blasting and offering rapid turnaround because cure is controllable through oven temperature.
