NEMA 4 enclosures deliver watertight performance that protects control systems from direct hose-directed water, heavy rain splash-back, and harsh wet environments typical of food processing plants, car washes, outdoor chemical facilities, and marine applications. The fully sealed construction, reinforced gasketed seams, and precision-fitted hinged doors create an impermeable barrier against moisture ingress from any direction or angle.

When fabricating NEMA 4 rated units, our engineers employ continuous welded seams on the enclosure body and specify stainless steel hardware to prevent corrosion that would compromise the seal integrity over extended outdoor service. The precision cutout tolerances and reinforced mounting bosses accommodate cable glands and conduit entries without creating pathways for water penetration.

For corrosive salt-spray environments or chemical wash-down applications, upgrading to NEMA 4X with stainless steel construction provides the ultimate protection, though standard NEMA 4 performs reliably in most wet industrial scenarios.
